Chris4LifeThe Chris4Life Cancer Foundation partners with multiple academic institutions across the country to conduct cutting edge research. Chris4Life is an interesting and unique foundation which funds a lot of cutting edge research with multiple academic institutions around the country.

Chris4Life also uses interesting campaigns in unique ways to raise an incredible amount of awareness for colorectal cancer.  Chris4Life also provide a support role for patients that have had a diagnosis of colorectal cancer. Chris4Life helps patients find resources around their community and they also help them navigate what can be a very confusing and sometimes frightening hospital and healthcare system.

Christopher Lieu, M.D.:  My name is Chris Lieu, one of the physicians here at University of Colorado Cancer Centre.  I am one of the medical oncologists that works in our gastrointestinal malignancies program.  This means that I treat patients that have colorectal cancer and ask to conduct research on ways to fight colorectal cancer better.  I found out about Chris4Life through a connection through Colon Town which is an online community on Facebook and Colon Town partners with Chris4Life.  Colon town is an online community where survivors, caregivers, and friends can connect with each other in an online form and Erika Brown who is the mayor of colon town actually connected our department with Chris4Life.

The Chris4Life Cancer Foundation partners with multiple academic institutions across the entire country to conduct cutting edge research and this is the connection that we have with Chris4Life.  Now, I think Chris4Life is a really interesting and unique foundation, they not only fund a lot of cutting edge research with multiple academic institutions around the country, but they actually raise an incredible amount of awareness for colorectal cancer through interesting campaigns in unique ways.

They also provide a lot of support for patients that have had a diagnosis of colorectal cancer, they help patients find resources around their community and they also help them navigate what can be a very confusing and sometimes frightening hospital and healthcare system.  They lend a lot of emotional support and they provide support for patients even in unique ways like through the arts, and one of the biggest things that I have found with Chris4Life is that they are an incredible patient advocacy group and I know that they do a lot of work at Washington DC and also raise awareness across the entire country which is incredibly important for any patient with colorectal cancer and their families.
