Colon Cancer Diagnosis Story: Marc Rowley

Being diagnosed with colon cancer was a huge shock to Marc Rowley, who was only 32 when he was diagnosed after experiencing painful stomach issues. He shares his diagnosis story with us, including having to argue with his doctor about needing a colonoscopy.

“I was feeling ill, having issues with bowel movements. About ten minutes before having a bowel movement I’d just be doubled over in pain,” he said. “My dad recommended a colonoscopy, he’d always had issues with diverticulitis.”

Marc’s doctor was reluctant to give him a colonoscopy, so they settled for an endoscopy, and were shocked to find that Marc had stage 3 colon cancer.
