Barry Feig, MD: The Oncotype DX test is a test for evaluating risk assessment in patients with stage 2 colon cancer. We always try to treat patients based on their personal cancer risk and we don’t have consistent ways of measuring risk assessment. The Oncotype DX test is a genomic profiling of the tumor that allows us to get another piece of risk stratification to help us identify how aggressive the tumor is and that helps us tailor treatment strategies after surgery.
